View Article  CHRISTMAS 2008

With all the talk of recession and a slowing economy we are excited to see whats going to happen this Christmas and are expecting a busy one. Each year has it's own skepticism. Last year was the fact that the Canadian Dollar was too high and people were going to travel and shop in the south. The year before was a year of home renovations. Well, this year is going to be a Jewellery year. No one wants to be spending the money on renovations or travel so they will be spending less, but spending locally and romantically. I think it will be year to get back to the family and spend some quality time with each other. What better way to celebrate that a nice small romantic gift of Jewellery.

Well, my first triathlon was not the greatest race I've ever had in my life. We started at 8am in Lake Ontario in 61 F water. I knew going into the race that I would hate the Swim and man did I ever hate the swim. It was 750 meters of pure hell. After about 350 meters I started to have some anxiety problems. My heart rate went up, my swimming technique was gone and I really started to worry. I swallowed quite a bit of Lake Ontario in the waves. Somehow I managed to finish that portion of the race. Then onto 30km of biking; One of my favorite things to do. After my chain fell off in the first 100 meters I started to wonder if this wasn't my day. (And I was told by Chuck Walsh that being shit on by a bird was good luck...Damn pigeon) I got going again only to have my calves cramp up about 10km into it. After stretching them out a bit I kept going and got my average speed up to about 33km/hour. The 30km bike was over before I knew it and I was feeling pretty good. This is when transition training would have been much more handy. I was in and out of the transition area very quickly and started the 7.5km run. About 1.5km's into the run my hamstrings started seizing up....GREAT....here we go again. So for the next 6km it was run, walk, run, walk. While throwing water all over myself ever station I hit. BUT, after 2 hours and 5 minutes I was able to finish the race and complete my first triathlon. Done and Done...just in time to have a few beers to celebrate.

No business on this blog. This one's about surviving the 1st year of marriage. Melissa and I have conquered the odds of marriage for the 1st year and are still in love. In a society that percentages lean the other way we are both proud of ourselves be it one year or ten it seems like a nice accomplishment and celebration. We got out of London on a last second flight and enjoyed the hurricane proned British Virgin Islands for a few days. Missing the hurricanes thank God.

Well, Summers here baby!!!!

Surfs up, Beers Cold and the Patio is screaming my name. For this edition I would like to share with you my friends just how much I love the summer. Golf, Cottage Country, Patio meals and of course Wedding season. Romance is in the air during the summer months and people just seem to be happier. Plus, you get the intense colours of nature. Things just seem to be brighter in the summer months. Even in the store we pump up our coloured stones. Cool Blue Topaz, Aquamarine, and Sapphire are very refreshing colours. Emeralds, Tourmalines and Peridot seems to put put you at ease. Green is a very relaxing colour. How could we miss the intense colours of Tanzanite (blueish purple), Ruby (Hot Red), Citrine (Bright Orange) and Amethyst (Deep Purple). These are ways to alter your outfits in the summer months and add some more colour to your life.

Be safe and enjoy the summer.

View Article  A Married Man I Am....

July 21, 2007

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day on saturday, July 21, 2007. We got married at the little white chapel called Immaculate Heart of Mary in Grand Bend, Ontario. After the wedding we all headed back to the Oakwood Inn where we had our pictures by the beach and the reception in their hall. Everything was perfect and the wedding was a success. No, I did not run away to Mexico with Cold Feet.

We headed down to Jamaica for a little R & R after the wedding and had an incredible week of sailing, kayaking, swimming, hiking waterfalls, hanging out with the dolphins and of course some Jerk Chicken and lots of frozen drinks. It's a great place to vacation.

Wow, Amazing that all the excitement and anticipation that was building for a year is over now. Back to work and life as it starts. We are both happier than ever and I'll look forward to attaching more information of exciting events in our lives.

The egg is the symbol of life. One of the finest pieces of art ever crafted in the world. The famous Faberge Eggs started in 1885 by Carl Faberge were given to Russian Czars as gifts at Easter. Carl Faberge perfected the art of enamelling adding his own techniques of Guilloche (A surface treatment hat could make waves and striations in the design) and another technique called Paillons (Floating 24kt golf leaf designs.) These incredible pieces of art have made there way to Nash Jewellers downtown location in earrings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets and rings. We are proud to present these limited edition Faberge pieces and would love for anyone to stop in and see these rare historic fine pieces of enamelled jewellery. If your looking for something to WOW your loved one, Faberge is the answer.

View Article  Happy Thanksgiving

What a weekend. It's not often that everything is closed and most people can't even think about work. It's even more rare that we are blessed with perfect weather. I for one had an amazing Thanksgiving Weekend filled with food, friend, family and a lot of outdoor activity to work off the Turkey. I even had a chance to go kayaking in the Thames River. The answer is yes.....it smelled. But what a weekend. Time to get down to business and start thinking about Halloween now. Well in our industry we pretty much skip Halloween and get right into Christmas. For those who enjoy Halloween we have some amazing Sunstone pieces in earrings, a ring and matching pendant. Amazing colour!!!!! And the perfect colour for halloween, vibrant reddish orange.
